This year as been one of the best years of my life!  Having turned 27 this year I am beginning to feel my age just a bit. 21 year old’s look to young for me and 31 is looking better. I have traveled around the world and country almost every month this year and couldn’t ask for anything better. Visiting friends, Family, and the occasional beach to make sure I come back my roots. I don’t say this very often but I feel blessed to have such a crazy life. I remember in High School hating to wake up at the same time and go to work at the same time and make life as regular as my morning yoga. I always knew that if I had excitment in my job I would be the happiest person on this earth. Well, my dream came true and I am a happy owner of a business that is almost 4 years old!!!! 4 YEARS OLD. Are you kidding me. This is something I can barely dream about and yet it happens on a daily biases. I would like to think it was just a one man operation but in truth it isn’t. I couldn’t have done with without the support of my family, clients and friends. You were my sales force that spread the word and I am truly grateful.

To think I have come this far and so much farther to go. Shooting my best friends wedding Jamaica turned my life around as a photographer. I only understood then what I could do with a camera. And to think I almost was considering giving it up when I got back from Jamaica. I see the medium that I work in and for once I feel like a painter that understands what is capable from a  white canvas. This life is a canvas and I want to share all my colors. To often I regarded myself as a silent person but most people know that I am always the opposite of that. I never wanted to open up on my blog but rather have my images do the talking. I figured Fashion and Fine Art photographers let the work do the talking but what is the point in it all. To grow old and always let the images do the talking for me seems boring.

Now with this year coming to a close I can only wonder what 2010 will bring! I know that moving forward is my only goal and enjoying life as it comes.

These are a few things that happened in 2009:

Lost my wallet 3 times in 2 months

Lost my keys 2 times in one month

Broke my phone 2 times in 3 weeks

Traveled to Jamaica and found my second home away from home

Hired a part time Office manager

Hiring a full time Office manager

Car was totaled by a semi truck

Camera and laptop were stolen

Started working on my fashion portfolio (finally)

Picked up biking as a sport and started training for the Chicago Triathlon.

Road my bike for 5 hours straight (87 miles)

Became broke and wealthy all in one month

Started taking photos just for me again

Launched a brand new website

Made a best friend (robyn at Studior)

Keep a positive attitude throughout this entire year

Started investing in the stock market

Created my mantra “Lifes to short to blend in.”

And this year isn’t over yet so I plan to add even more on the list. Take care and keep up because I have about 3 months worth of pictures to post!

Robyn - Without any expectations, I only foresee greatness coming from your spirit.

You are an amazing person and photographer. I am blessed and grateful to have you in my life Joshua! I think everyone who knows you probably feels the same way, if not they should! Your work is awesome as are you!

Jay Crihfield - Hey if you’re into road biking, we should definitely get together and ride sometime. Some of the suburban country roads out this way are awesome!ReplyCancel
