I have known Abby since I was eight years old. Her older brother, Ryan, became one of my first friends when I moved from the south Suburbs of Chicago to Northwest Indiana. When she started dating Bryan I can remember coming over to their house and hanging out with Bryan and Abby. Seeing the beginnings of their love is actually incredible. I don’t often get this chance as a wedding photographer to see a relationship from the early stages. I can say it was an amazing experience and I wish I could have time travel and offer this service with all my clients. Now on to the photos!
Bryan is lucky he has a great sense of humor, because if he didn’t, he wouldn’t last long with the Grulke clan. Thankfully, he brings his own flavor of weird to the family mix, ensuring a permanent place by Abby’s side.
Ryan, the bride’s brother, found not just one, but two four-leaf clovers to give to the groom just before the ceremony. Only a leprechaun ring-bearer could make this union more lucky.

Abby and her bridesmaids finished up their hair and make-up preparations at the Salon Amara and headed to the Hilton in Chesterton, where her dress was waiting. Abby found her dress at Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City – made famous on the popular wedding show, Say Yes to the Dress.

With the help of her mother and bridesmaids, Abby slipped into her Henry Roth wedding dress and slid on her Cubs garter – a special surprise for Bryan.

Bryan and his groomsmen shared some final, single-guy bro love moments (including some ear-nibbling) at his childhood home.

The girls grabbed their vibrant bouquets, from House of Fabian, and headed outside. Abby and her bridesmaids blew off some anxiety by making funny faces at each other before piling into the waiting limousine to depart to the ceremony.

Abby and Bryan were married at the beautiful Sand Creek Country Club in Chesterton, Indiana, surround by all of their family and friends.

After a quick game of tag between Bryan and the flower girl, we captured a few moments of newlywed love between Abby and Bryan before heading back into the reception.

The reception was lively, with hilarious toasts/roasts, delectable cake from Tonya’s Patisserie, and disco balls illuminating several guests performing the Robot and Lawnmower.

The guys capped off the wedding by enjoying a round of cigars in the hazy summer twilight.

Abby and Bryan, we love your perfect blend of awesome weirdness and hilarity. We can’t wait to see you again soon!
robbin grulke - Josh,
You are so talented and I knew that you would not disappoint! I love the pictures starting with the 4 leaf clover. You have a gift for capturing the essence of your subject. I like that you included the quirky shots because that fits Abby and Bryan and our families. I can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures! Homerun so far….
Dominique - Amazing! The 4 leaf clover that Ryan found is awesome! What a beautiful couple!!
