I didn’t believe Pleasantville actually existed until we showed up at the Byron Colby Barn in Grayslake to shoot Lauren and Nick’s wedding.  It was the most adorable place for a wedding!  Nick explained to us Prairie Crossing – the community surrounding the Barn – is a conservation community, focusing on development planning and healthy, happy lifestyles.  It was the perfect location for Lauren and Nick’s wedding, which about more than just the marriage between the two of them – it was about family and unity.

Lauren and Nick were married in a sweet ceremony in the brick-lined Market Square, just outside of the barn.

The florals, provided by The Grapevine, were absolutely perfect for this rustic elegance wedding – we loved the use of thistle!

We’ve worked with Andrea Piershale Barzideh before, shooting her lovely engagement photos.  We were so pleased that she served as the event planner for Lauren and Nick – the day flowed seamlessly and she added a touch of awesomeness to the whole affair.

Instead of the traditional cake table, Lauren and Nick treated guests to a dessert table full of yummy snacks and chocolate-covered goodness, as well as a candy table with treats in their wedding colors for guests to take home.

Lauren and Nick, you are the definition of ‘good people.’  It may sound cheesy, but you could truly feel the love filling the barn up to the exposed wood rafters at your wedding.  We wish you (and Winston and Stryker) the very best!
