When I arrive at my first destination I go over all the details it takes to pull off a wedding. I prepare myself for everything and anything as I only get one time to grab the shot or miss it forever. I visualize how my couple’s wedding might go and I look at where I can be to make the most compelling imagery. This is same visual training a professional athlete goes through and I have found if they are winning medals why can’t I do it to be the best wedding photographer!  I tell this story because Mike and Jestene’s wedding was a picture perfect image of what I had prepared for. Through her careful planning I was able to capture her wedding just as I visualized it with only one exception. We would stop at Portillos and order 35 hotdogs and 11 large fries for everyone on the party bus! This group of bridal party members took the word “party” in party bus and bridal party all too well. Having over 4 hours to shoot in any location downtown we were never without a dull moment which lead to many great images, from the best man talking down to a Chicago cop to Jestene’s veil almost being yanked out of her hair (see image below)!

Mike and Jestene were married at the beautiful United Methodist Church off Elston Ave in Chicago. The church had beautiful vaulted wood ceiling and plenty of natural light. The church had a packed house, completely full of guests. After the ceremony we marked their union with bubbles outside of the church. Take a look at the black and white image below as its one of my favorite so far this year. We all piled into a party bus and drove into the city to grab some shots all around town. The reception was held at Renaissance Northshore, and they took care of Mike and Jestene very well. Another great venue I love working with because my couples receive such great service.

You can view the Orange Wedding Film’s work at Jestene and Mike. J. J. Does some great work and I don’t normally recommend a vendor so fast but when they are good they are good.

Floral are provided by Always Lou’s Florist in Chicago.

Hands down one of my favorite shots. The bride was strutting across the line up while someone was still holding the veil. With the bright smile in the background and the bridesmaid to the right reaching out to Jestene this image really shows the fun nature of the entire bridal party.

This beautiful cake was provided by Oak Mill Bakery.

All this beautiful candy was provide by Albanese Confectionery located in Hobart, IN. This is the best place to get your for a candy bar as they have a factory outlet store and make most of the candy on the premises.

The flower girl was curious why Mike was looking under Jestene’s dress. So she decided to take a peek herself.

Also a special thanks goes out too Matt. Its so important to have a DJ that keeps the crowd moving and at A Posh Production he did just that. A true DJ which means dancing and happy guests. He also handled the uplighting which looked fantastic.

Special Thanks goes out to J.J. at Orange Wedding Films. Having wanted to work with them for awhile it was great to finally get the chance.  This is a shot of J.J. shooting the incredible Christian Louboutin shoes Jestene wore.
