Farren and Peter and Hank’s Engagement Session

Shooting at the historic Crown Point Court house was such a treat. This is the often confused place where the infamous, John Dillinger Escaped from jail (the actually jail was just a few buildings down) but nevertheless you will find some great history in a court house building in the 17th Century.

Farren and Peter are easily a perfect match for each other.  They have this rhythm together and its completely obvious when you meet such perfect couple the engagement session will be a breeze. One great addition any engagement is a dog. And we just so happened to have the third member of the family come by about halfway through our shoot. Hank the beautiful Pug you see towards to the end of the shoot and was a blast to shoot. Look at the personality and you will see that he is every bit as important. This rounded out a great engagement shoot and I couldn’t be happier.

Kim and Drew’s Destination Wedding

I am sure being married to a green beret has its advantages. You never have to bring a knife, spiders will always fear you, and never have to worry about bullies for the rest of your life. These are just the tip of the ice berg that makes up Drew Warner. Kim and Drew met before he did his first tour in Iraq and while away maintained a relationship that makes me believe Kim must have the soul of a saint. Together you see the chemistry that feeds off each other and shows the support that makes their relationship so great.

There wedding took place at the Riu Palace in Playacar, Mexico on april 9th 2010. The day was sunny and all 50 guest thanked Kim for the all white wedding dress attire. Beautiful landscapes and the best service I ever received in a resort are just some of the reason to visit Riu.

I first met Kim and Drew in February while shooting their engagement session in Cincinnati, Ohio. Cincinnati has great history and historical attractions but as I drove down a blizzard came with me and removed most of the places we could shoot at. We had a blast together and created a real chemistry by the time it was for me to shoot the wedding.

I just love it when clients become friends.

What happened!

This April has been filled with great life stories and I would be lying if I didn’t love the ending.

If you notice I changed my blog around. This wasn’t on purpose so I thought but rather because I needed to update my wordpress to a current version. Well, let me tell you kids. Back up Back up Back up! I never backed up and copied over the files for some reason only God knows and lost all my blog posts!! I screamed after I did it. No joke. Haven’t done that since I asked out my first girl on a date. Well I am slowly recovering as I now have to change my blog theme and add back in all my old posts again.

Now on to the good news…

This month started out with a great easter. I turned 28 in March and for some reason I felt different. I think the age is coming into play in my life and I needed a change. Easter was the first time on a holiday I sat on a couch with my family and didn’t move for 8 hours. Felt like Peter Gibbon’s from Office Space because I must have had the biggest smile on my face. I actually relaxed! Its like learning how to bike ride except I forgot many years ago and I am just learning to enjoy and appreciate the people I surround myself with and the family with which I have been blessed to have.

There will plenty of exciting news in the months so please stay tuned because I feel this is a turning point in my story… And we all know that turning points are the best part of a story.;)

Something Beautiful

Simplicity.

The other day I had such a great moment that was so close to simplicity that I couldn’t bear not talking about it. Over the last two and a half years and a short break Brooke and I have been in a serious relationship. From the moment I saw Brooke on our first date in a Dive bar I always loved her. She has this quality that let you know she wasn’t perfect but what she had to offer put anyone else to shame. Our love is something I would never describe as simple though. We have worked hard to be together and she has been the rock in my life. Something that I can count on.

Her Daughter, Kate, on the other hand is simple. A beautiful almost 6 year old that makes your see the world between 3-4 feet in height.  Its amazing to see her grow for over 2 years. She is becoming her own person. Something I never expected to see. She loves me and I can honestly say I love her too.  I don’t have any children of my own but at the Age of 28 I never expected I would at this point. Kate lets me see and feel what its like to be a parent and I must say that its one very powerful emotion. Truly one of the greatest gifts you can have in this world.

This simple girl and her not so simple mother have been my best friends and I can say without question I can’t wait to see the future.
