What I live by: Life's too short to blend in
"I live my life to that motto. It's not only for my business but for my personal life. It's my drum that drives me to take the ordinary world and make it into my own creation." Joshua began photographing in 2004 to record the world as he saw it. "Everyday moments were the focus of my career. I loved studying human interaction and the way we express emotion even during a normal conversation." Having been published in several trade magazines for Talent Agents and Casting Directors he has spent a great deal of time focusing on the mixture of both photojournalism and fashion into one cohesive blend. "Capturing every emotion is what drives me as a photographer, hands down!" and it's that passion which has lead him to excel in his industry. His humble beginnings started in Fine Art Photography and attributes his style to the study of great landscape photographers. "I became obsessive over landscape photographers in particular Peter Lik. His vivid colors and panoramic compositions influenced me during my schooling. They don't have a subject that moves and that gives them the time to compose a shot that isn't only depend upon a moment but the geometry of the scene. I studied him and many others masters in landscapes to understand what their eyes saw in our world." Joshua ultimately doesn't allow himself to follow one style, but rather mixes them together like a painter does with colors. "I want each image to be an onion. You may simply enjoy it on the surface but there are many layers and when viewed closely you will find the source of my passion."
